What: FREE Screening of the movie, "New Orleans", featuring Louis Armstrong
Where: The Inn On Bourbon's Salon de Gallier 541 Bourbon Street When: Sunday, August 8 at 7:30 PM Why: The Inn On Bourbon is proud to announce free monthly showings of Crescent City-themed movies, starting with the 1947 classic, "New Orleans." The movie features Louis Armstrong and looks at the origins of Jazz, and how the music genre originally became appreciated and accepted by "high-brow" New Orleanians. The screening coincides with the last day of Satchmo Summerfest. Future screening dates will take place at the Inn On Bourbon on the first Monday of each month. The monthly movie series is made possible by the New Orleans Lyceum, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to adult learning. The Inn On Bourbon will sell popcorn, candy and light refreshments. A theme and storyline discussion will follow the movie and will be facilitated by Lyceum founder David O'Donaghue, Psy.D. Special $5 parking at The Inn On Bourbon is extended to all guests attending the performances. |
