The New Orleans Lyceum is an organization dedicated to adult learning. Once a month, the organization is hosting a “Philosophy Cafe” or “Philo Cafe” at the Inn On Bourbon. A philosophy café is an opportunity to actually "do" philosophy in a fun conversational manner without reading heavy texts or listening to ponderous lectures. The goal of this discussion is not to come up with definitive solutions to philosophical quandaries but to demonstrate, by interaction, how complex and interesting concepts can be when they are applied specifically and generally.

The tradition of philosophical conversation goes back to the ancient philosophers of Greece and maybe earlier. This tradition became famous again in the salons of the French Enlightenment of the 18th Century and in Paris after the Second World War.

Scheduled for the third Thursday of every month at the Inn On Bourbon, these 90 minute sessions will focus on a different topic each month. The Philo Cafes will be facilitated by Lyceum instructors and are open to any interested adults.

Special $5 parking at The Inn On Bourbon is extended to all guests attending all of these events.

Located in the heart New Orleans' famous French Quarter and on one of the world's most popular streets, The Inn On Bourbon consistently offers guests the finest personal service, superior accommodations and overall value.
