MARDI GRAS STORIES, Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m.
The rich culture of New Orleans has always been enhanced by the traditional celebration of Mardi Gras. So much has contributed to the way Mardi Gras is still celebrated today. This one- hour program looks back at the old French Opera House and the history of Comus, the first Carnival organization to present a New Orleans style parade. Learn about the origin of the doubloon, hear from a family who visited during Mardi Gras over a century ago and from others who share their Mardi Gras Stories. Hosted by Peggy Scott Laborde. Produced by Ashli Richard. |
