ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL TO PRESENT SPANISH ORGAN VIRTUOSO IN CONCERT
Miguel Bernal will appear in concert on Tuesday, April 28, 7 pm in a free recital Miguel Bernal is widely acclaimed as one of the leading young European organ virtuosos. A native of Alicante, Spain, he studied with Esteban Elizondo of the San Sebastian Conversatory and later with Xavier Darasse at he Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon. He later obtained a doctorate in musicology focusing on the music of Juan Cabanilles from the University of Madrid. Recognized as one of the leading authorities on Spanish organ music, he maintains a busy concert schedule throughout Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland. He regularly offers workshops throughout Europe on the interpretation of 18th-century Spanish organ music. In addition to teaching responsibilities in Seville, he recently published a highly acclaimed critical edition of the complete organ works of Correa de Arauxo. |
