 Traffic Status

Fencing Has Been Removed!!!  500 Block Roadway / Toulouse Intersection Reopening to Traffic

On Monday, Dec. 3 weather permitting, the contractor will reopen the 500 block Bourbon Street roadway to pedestrian traffic and the Toulouse and Bourbon intersection to vehicular traffic. Crews are preparing for sidewalk work by installing temporary access ramps to all businesses. The 500 block roadway will reopen to vehicular traffic once the sidewalks are complete in late December.

Upcoming Roadway Closure – 600 Block (Toulouse to St. Peter)
Once the 500 block of Bourbon and Toulouse intersection reopens to pedestrian and vehicular traffic respectively (Monday, Dec. 3 weather permitting), crews will install the fence in the 600 block roadway to accommodate installation of new utilities.  Crews will be starting on the new waterline.  The 600 block roadway is anticipated to be reopened in late January.

Upcoming Intersection Closure – St. Louis Street

On Monday, Dec. 3, the contractor will be temporarily closing the intersection of Bourbon and St. Louis to complete sidewalk restoration.  This activity is anticipated to take two days; the intersection will be open to traffic when crews are not working.

Upcoming Intersection Closure – St. Peter Street

The intersection of St.  Peter and Bourbon streets will close during the week of Dec. 3 so that crews can complete the installation of new utilities. This also means that the first half of the 700 block of Bourbon will be closed to vehicular traffic, as well as the 700 block of St. Peter. Flaggers will be on site at Dauphine to direct local traffic in / out of the 800 block of St. Peter while crews are working. Expect this closure to last for approximately four weeks.

 Entergy Electric & Gas
Entergy Gas will continue working at the intersection of St. Ann and Bourbon streets, and will move into the 800 block.  Entergy Electric will be working in the 800 block.  There will be no intersections closed; however, there may be temporary street closures of Bourbon in the 800 block between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  As usual Entergy will accommodate the public, businesses, and deliveries to the best of their ability.
