Temporary Closure of 750 Block of Bourbon Street for Roadway Restoration: April 19 – 26, 2021

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works today announced a week-long closure of the 750 block of Bourbon Street between Orleans Avenue and St. Ann Street beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 19, weather permitting to accommodate crews replacing several roadway panels around the safety bollards. Public safety is our priority; signage will be in place throughout the closure. The block will be open to pedestrian traffic and all businesses will be accessible during this work.

The roadway is scheduled to reopen to vehicular traffic at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 26, weather permitting. This is part of an approximately $600,000 pavement restoration project of roadway panels and sidewalk sections on Bourbon Street between Canal Street and St. Philip Street following upgrades/repairs by a number of utility companies.

Northwest Orleans & Bourbon Roadway
Northeast Orleans & Bourbon Roadway
Northeast St Ann and Bourbon Roadway
Northwest Dumaine & Bourbon Roadway
Southeast St Ann and Bourbon Roadway
North side 800 Block Roadway
Northeast Dumaine & Bourbon Roadway
Southwest Dumaine & Bourbon Roadway
South side 100 – 400 Blocks Sidewalks & Handicap Ramps

During the restoration process, there are sidewalk and lane closures, as well as possible intermittent roadway closures while crews are removing sections. Additionally, there may be large trucks and heavy equipment hauling materials in the area.

In general, Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC is working from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents and visitors are advised to adhere to no parking signage as vehicles in these zones will be ticketed and towed.
