French Quarter road closures: July 4, 2018 & Essence Festival

Decatur Street may close on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 if pedestrian traffic becomes too congested after the fireworks. N.O.P.D. will be on hand to monitor and close the street if needed.

The following road closures will go into effect for Essence Festival on Friday, July 6 – Sunday, July 8, 2018. Please plan accordingly.

French Quarter Exterior Soft Closure – 8:00pm – 4:00am

French Quarter residents, employees, and hotel guests will be allowed access as well, as long as it is safe to do so. NO PASSES ARE NEEDED.

Bourbon Street Hard Closure (100-800 blocks)– 8:00pm – 4:00am

Vehicles will not be able to cross the Bourbon Street Hard Closure at the intersections. It will also be a no parking/tow away zone (signage will be posted).
